We process your personal information for a variety of reasons, depending on how you interact with our Services, including:
In Short: We share information with service providers that help us operate the Services, as well as in certain other situations described below.
We share personal information with the following categories of third parties to operate, secure, and improve the Services. These third parties act as our service providers (data processors) and are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we authorize.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties, and we do not share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
In Short: Yes, our Services use AI to detect clothing items, generate outfit recommendations, and personalize your experience.
As part of our Services, we offer products, features, or tools powered by artificial intelligence ("AI Products"). These tools are designed to enhance your experience and provide personalized outfit suggestions. The terms in this Privacy Notice govern your use of the AI Products within our Services.
We provide our AI Products through Anthropic, PBC (United States), the developer of Claude. When you use our AI features:
Anthropic processes this information as our service provider and, per Anthropic's policies, does not use our API inputs to train its models. For more information, see Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
Our AI Products are designed for the following functions:
Our outfit recommendations are generated by AI based on your wardrobe and preferences. This processing involves an element of automated decision-making and profiling within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR. However, our recommendations do not produce legal effects concerning you or significantly affect you — they are styling suggestions that you remain free to accept, modify, or ignore. You can edit or replace any recommendation, swap individual items, or dismiss recommendations entirely.
You may stop using our AI features at any time. If you wish to delete your data from our AI processing pipeline, you can delete individual clothing items or your entire account from within the app. Note that AI processing is integral to our core outfit recommendation features, so opting out of AI processing while continuing to use the app is not currently supported.
In Short: We keep your information only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined below, unless a longer period is required by law.
We retain personal information for the following periods:
| Data Type | Retention Period |
|---|---|
| Account data (email, password hash, profile) | For the duration of your account; deleted immediately upon account deletion request |
| Clothing item photographs and metadata | For the duration of your account; deleted immediately upon account deletion. Items you mark for deletion are soft-deleted and hard-deleted after 7 days. |

| AI Stylist sessions and suggestions | 90 days from generation, after which they are automatically purged. |
| Outfit feedback and favorites | For the duration of your account; deleted immediately upon account deletion. |
| Subscription and payment metadata | Subscription records are held by Apple and RevenueCat per their respective privacy policies. Limited financial records may be retained in our accounting systems separately from your account data for tax and recordkeeping purposes for as long as required by applicable law (typically up to 7 years in the United States). |
| Database backups | We do not currently maintain automated database backups. Deleted data is not retained in backup snapshots. |
| Email delivery logs | Approximately 30 days, retained by our email service provider (Resend) for delivery diagnostics. |
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will delete or anonymize such information.
In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. If you would at any time like to review or change the information in your account or terminate your account, you can log in to your account settings and update your user account.
Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. If you have questions or comments about your privacy rights, you may email us at support@ariscloset.app.
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.
California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser DNT signals. Because there currently is not an industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not respond to them at this time.
