Everything you need to know about using Ari's Closet — from getting started to managing your subscription.
Ari's Closet is an iOS app that helps you manage your wardrobe and plan outfits using AI. You photograph the clothes you already own, and the app organizes them, detects colors and categories automatically, and generates outfit ideas based on your style preferences, the weather, and the occasion.
The goal isn't to make you buy more clothes — it's to help you wear what you already have.
Ari's Closet is currently available on iPhone (iOS). An iPad-optimized version and Android support may come in the future.
Tap the add button in the Wardrobe tab, then either take a photo of the item or choose one from your photo library. The app automatically removes the background and uses AI to detect the category, color, formality, and other attributes. You can review and edit any of these details before saving.
No. Start with the pieces you actually wear and love. You can always add more later. The app gets more useful as you add items, but you don't need to inventory your entire closet on day one.
The outfit generator pulls from the items already in your wardrobe and suggests combinations based on your style preferences, the current weather, the formality of the occasion, and what works well together. You can favorite outfits you love or generate new ones with a tap.
The AI Stylist is a Premium feature that gives you personalized outfit recommendations and styling advice based on your specific wardrobe and preferences. Suggestions are saved so you can come back to them later, and you can dismiss any you don't like.
Yes. The Trip feature lets you plan outfits for a destination and date range. The app considers the weather forecast and trip purpose when generating suggestions, so you can pack with a real plan instead of guessing.
The AI does a good job with most everyday clothing, but it's not perfect. You can always edit the detected category, color, formality, season, and other attributes after a photo is added. Better information in means better outfit suggestions out.
Yes. Tap any item in your wardrobe to open its details, then edit anything you'd like — category, color, formality, season, brand, notes, or even the photo itself.
Yes, there's a free tier that lets you try out the core features. Premium unlocks the full experience, including the AI Stylist, unlimited outfit generation, and other advanced features.
Premium is $4.99/month or $39.99/year (a savings of about 33% versus monthly).
Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID, not inside the app. To cancel:
You'll keep access to Premium until the end of your current billing period.
Open the app, go to Profile or Settings, and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID you used to purchase Premium originally.
All purchases are processed through Apple, so refund requests go through them directly. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find Ari's Closet, and submit a refund request. Apple makes the final decision on refunds.
We collect what's needed to make the app work: your account info (email, name), the photos and details of items you add to your wardrobe, your style preferences, and basic usage data. We don't sell your data to anyone.
For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
Yes. Your wardrobe is private to your account. No other user can see your clothes, your outfits, or your profile information.
Your photos are stored securely in our cloud storage so they're available across devices when you sign in. They're protected by row-level security, meaning only your account can access them.
When you add a clothing item, the photo is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to detect attributes like category and color. Anthropic does not store or use these photos to train AI models. Background removal is handled by Remove.bg with the same standard.

If you have an active Premium subscription, cancel it through Apple Settings before deleting your account to avoid future charges.
Ari's Closet needs permission to access your camera and photo library. Check that permissions are enabled in your iPhone's Settings → Ari's Closet. If they're already on, try closing the app fully and reopening it.
First, try tapping Restore Purchases in the app. If that doesn't work, fully close the app (swipe up from the app switcher) and reopen it — this often refreshes your subscription status. If you still don't have access, email us at support@ariscloset.app with your Apple ID email so we can investigate.
Yes — tap the item in your wardrobe and edit any of the detected attributes manually. The AI gets things right most of the time but isn't perfect, especially for patterns, multi-color items, or unusual styles.
Outfit quality depends on the variety in your wardrobe and how accurately each item is labeled. If suggestions feel off, check that your items have the right category, formality, and season tags. Adding more pieces usually improves results too.
Try these in order:
